Website/App Development

We would like a new Website/APP for our organization. We aren’t sure which platform we would like for it to be built on, but we have an idea of what we would like it to do. We would like to work with students to develop a new website for us. Project Description: Develop a platform that allows people to take virtual tours all around the world from their couch. The platform will feature video tours of special places on the planet by professional guides – places such as wonders of the world (e.g. Macchu Pichu), museums (e.g. the Louvre) and excursions (e.g. jungle walk). Content will be provided by tour guides from all over the world who compete to be included on the site for that location – we will curate the collection of journeys and limit the videos for each location. Viewers can rate their viewing experience (like NetFlix). Profiled content contributors will be compensated via clicks/views of their content. The site will be funded through advertising – tour companies, airlines, hotels, Airbnb, etc. Locations’ video tours may also be accompanied by a chef making a local meal which viewers can make at home, and links to local music will also be provided. Students should be prepared to: Conduct a needs analysis to determine which platform is most suitable. Create a design proposal including mock-ups, budget, and timeline. Build a fully-functioning website/App. Provide training on updating and maintaining the site. Project Deliverables(What we would like the results to be) - Build a website that accomplishes what’s described in the description above that will: · Give users the opportunity to take fantasy trips without leaving their home. · Give tour guides/companies the opportunity to reach a new audience and income stream. · Create a website/app that inspires people to travel and experience the world, even when they can’t leave home.
