ACE Project Space: Fall 2025

Flexible

Skilled, motivated students from Red River College's ACE Project Space workshop are ready to support your business . The ACE Project Space is a collaborative, interactive workspace where students, entrepreneurs, non-profits, and corporations come together to turn bold ideas into real-world solutions. With guidance from experienced staff and faculty, students from the Business Information Technology, Data Science and Machine Learning, and Information Security programs work directly with industry partners to build prototypes, develop products, and design services ready for market. Participating employers gain access to curious, capable, and career-ready students who are eager to apply their skills to meaningful challenges. Projects are divided into three distinct phases, each requiring 60 hours of student work. Upon completing each phase, students are paid a $1,400 stipend—fully covered through Riipen and the Government of Canada’s Innovative Work-Integrated Learning (I-WIL) Initiatives program. There is no cost to you. This is an exclusive, invite-only opportunity. If you were not invited to participate, your project match request will be declined. Project timeline: Request to match your project: September 2 - 12, 2025 Program administrators will support you in setting up your projects and matching them to the experience. Students invited to join: September 17, 2025 Students will be assigned to your project in teams Project start date: September 22, 2025 Project end date: October 31, 2025 All projects must be completed to be eligible for payment For more program details, see our landing page for employers

ACE Project Space - Industry Project Demonstration of skills acquired in the student’s respective program of application development, data science, security, and IT Operations Project Dates Each employer will post 2 projects in the experience. These have set start and end dates: Project 1: January 20 - 31, 2025 Project 2: February 5 - 19, 2025 Phases and Activities Initiation Project kickoff and upskilling Requirements gathering Project Charter Proof of concept technical solution Design Infrastructure set up Initial development of basic components Wireframing Determine database structure or data models Initial security evaluation Develop & Test UX testing Feature development Feature testing  Data labeling  Model training Vulnerability assessment Solution Launch & Transition Technical manual User manual Code handoff Solution presentation Skills development Depending on the program of study a number of potential skills are developed Coding a comprehensive business solution based on client requirements Creating and training data models for predictive analytics Assessing application vulnerabilities and suggesting mitigation Creating business documentation outlining the requirements of a technical solution Communicating with a client regarding the progress of the technical solution Facilitating meetings with clients Performing analysis on client needs and designing a technical solution
