Virtual Internship Opportunity: Improve the use of technical services in your business: Bring on one or up to 4 students from KPU, who are finishing their Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Technical Management and Services to be your paid interns. This is a paid project-based experience. Students will work on one or more projects of your choosing over the internship period, up to 320 hours over a 4 months period, connecting with you as requested over using virtual communication tools. Students are available from January 11, 2021 till April 23, 2021. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, student placements will only occur virtually, but should the situation change, we can discuss other options. Our students are located in BC (Lower Mainland).

Expected outcomes and deliverables

Deliverables will vary depending on the scope of the project, and might include: process maps, stakeholder presentations and executive summaries, financial and other data analysis, written reports with insights and recommendations, and implementation plans that include useable content. The paid intern should complete up to 320 hours with your organization by April 23, 2021.

Project examples

Students can complete a substantial consulting project for your organization over the placement period.

Students in KPU's TMAS Post Baccalaureate program can complete projects for a range of business functions, including strategy, operations, and marketing. Project examples may include, but are not limited to:

  • Critically evaluate how your organization manages product life-cycle, production, process management and the supply chain in order to enhance sustainability
  • Design and implement appropriate operations management models and initiatives to increase sustainable services, manufacturing, and logistics for your organization
  • Apply appropriate statistical methods and other analytical approaches to sustainability issues related to technical services and production in general and propose an action plan for improvements to products, services and/or processes
  • Contrast various of your business priorities and requirements and use that business analysis to develop an operational sustainability initiative
  • Devise strategies for overcoming resistance to change in implementing sustainable practices in production and the use of technical services
